Gambling Access Project
Between 2008 and 2009, the Swinburne gambling research team (Professors Mike Kyrios, Susan Moore, Glen Bates and Denise Meredyth, with Dr Anna Thomas as project manager), carried out a study of gambling access with funding from the Department of Justice (Victoria). This project is now completed.
Thankyou to all those who participated, either in the survey or the focus groups.
We found some interesting differences between social gamblers and problem gamblers in the types of gambling venues they enjoy and the strategies they use to help them manage their gambling.
For a brief summary of our findings see Swinburne Magazine - Issue #5.
We are currently writing up the results for publication and will add links to our detailed findings as they are published.
